This is a great barn and the space will only be given to a happy, healthy horse/owner combo who will add to our calm, casual, active, joyful space; please read the whole add before replying.
Semi-self board includes morning and evening feedings (you do lunch, turnout/in, blankets and poop) There is an option of $6.00 per day, `pay as you need it` for daytime chores.
- 5 acre private property on a backroad in Cobble Hill
- large sand ring (almost all weather, but no lights)
- 10 x 10 rubber matted walk out stall with nice size paddock
- two other horses live at this barn, both with a attentive owners
- an EC certified coach with 35 plus years horse experience works out of the barn
- 20 minute road ride gives you access to quarry, cobble hill mountain and kinsol trestle area full of great trails
- heated tackroom/office, lights, grooming stall, hay storage
- daily pasture turnout as a herd throughout the year
- opportunity for group rides and possible trailer sharing
Sunny peaceful property; ravens come to drink out of horse troughs and swallows live in the barn, but also family friendly, often with young kids running around making noise enjoying themselves (or crying/fighting as the case may be!). We are a relaxed barn; recreational riders and small lesson program with true horsemanship, safety and excellent horse care as top priorities.
Preference given to;
- a mare
- an owner who would enjoy being in a lesson/training program
- a horse/pony that owner would consider being used for a few lessons a week if the right students showed up.
- because of herd lifestyle, must have no back shoes, and best if barefoot all around. (Joe McLean comes to barn every 5 wks)
- no cribbers, biters, kickers etc.
